Miami Recap

My family and I visited Miami a few weeks ago and I wanted to share some restaurants we indulged in while in town.

Our first night(Wednesday) in Miami Beach, mommy chose to cook pepper steak and rice no complaints from us, We love her cooking. I made a salad to complement her meal. Unfortunately no pictures we were starving.

Late or early depending on how you look at it around one in the morning, me and my sister did grab some tacos from my favorite taco spot Cayo Taco.

Thursday for lunch we visited KANSAS CITY BAR AND GRILL. I tried the calamari.

Thursday night mom chefed it up again and made my daughters favorite dish chicken and rice. She also made me fried chicken and I made another salad to go with the meal as well.

So good!
So good!

Friday morning was our first and only morning we made it out for breakfast that was Kaliyah’s actual birthday. She chose BALANS a very chic breakfast spot. I got the french toast with bacon almonds (yes you heard that right) vanilla butter, and a banana. Every last bite was delightful.

Friday night (Liyahs birthday dinner) she chose The Capital Grille.

Everything about this restaurant was fancy and elegant from the decor to the food perfect! I ordered calamari (yes again) as a appetizer the last restaurant wasn’t crispy enough and for my main course, I had lamb chops and mashed potatoes. The drink pictured below is called The Bohemian and I had two they were that good.

Wine locked in a cabinet! Fancy!
Wine locked in a cabinet! Fancy!

Saturday and Sunday we had Pizza from Pizza Rustica I swear I’m onssed with that pizza spot so delicious.

Those were some of the eats we enjoyed on our trip and I can’t wait to go back to Miami and explore more food spots.

Until next time ~Koko~

6 Things You Should Be Disinfecting On A Daily Basis.

Home Doorknobs

Everyone touches them multiple times a day. I make sure to spray ours at least 2 times a day.

Light Switches

We all touch light switches hundreds of times throughout the day. we spray ours every night before bed.

Refrigerator Handles

My kids live in the fridge so I spray the handles once in the afternoon and again before bed.

Bathroom Toilet

The bathroom is a high traffic area I like to spray it down with disinfectant spray at least two times a day.

Cellphone

Our phones are the nastiest things on the planet we set them down on dirty surfaces after touching other dirty areas all day. I like to take antibacterial hand wipes and wipe my phone off multiple times a day as we put our phones to our faces to talk.

Car (Inside and out)

Another high traffic area for almost everyone. My family practically lives in the car for appointments, work, family trips you get the point. I spray our car down once in the afternoon and once before bed so when we can have a clean vehicle in the morning. I deep spray the car from the gear shift to the radio knobs every inch of the vehicle, then I spray the outside handles and the trunk latch.

Of course, there are other things you should be wiping down daily but those are just some of the main ones I was shocked to see no one really thought about especially the cellphone.

Do you clean any of these things?

Until next time Koko

Pretty In Pink Breakfast

Brunch in bed? Why not these delicious pretty pancakes will make the start of your day. This is a quick and thoughtful way to surprise babe with breakfast as well. Sometimes men need a little love too.

Ingredients

Pancake Batter (makes 7 cups):

  • 6 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 3 tablespoons baking powder
  • 2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 2 teaspoons kosher salt

Pancakes (makes 6 pancakes):

  • 1 cup pancake batter
  • 3/4 cup milk, or 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon melted butter, plus more for the pan
  • Two drops red food coloring
  • Blueberries (3 or 4 per pancake, add in while cooking)
  • Walnuts
  • Powdered sugar (topping)

Directions:

Put 1 cup of pancake batter into a mixing bowl. In a separate bowl, combine milk, egg, and vanilla extract. Beat well Continue whisking the milk while you pour in the melted butter. Pour the egg mixture in the pancake batter and blend to your liking.

Get you a large non-stick pan and set it on medium heat. Add a tablespoon of butter and once the pan is hot the butter will melt, then and only then will you add your batter in (make your cakes the size you want) I made mines medium size.

Once you have your pancake batter cooking add a few blueberries 3 or 4 is fine. (Use whatever fruit you like)

When the bubbles form, flip your pancakes and let the other side cook a minute or two. I usually cook two pancakes at a time, you want the flipping room.

Repeat until all your pancakes are done.

Once pancakes are finished cooking top them with blueberries, strawberries, walnuts, and powdered sugar, that’s how I did mines.

* We had bacon and eggs as well I just didn’t add them in my picture.

* If this is an all adult show you can make Strawberry Moscato floats all you need is Strawberry Moscato by Andre and vanilla bean ice cream. (Picture below)

Friday Mood

Warm Weather: we are finally starting to get some warm weather this week in my neck of the woods. We‘ve had rain for like a month straight. I have been sick as a dog and I’m really excited to get some sun. I think I want to take my kids to the beach this weekend we are a beach family and we have been dying to get outside.

Keisha Cole: this drama with her and AB is a mess. I really don’t know him but he embarrassed my girl by saying he was a player and he wants her off his dick. She knows better to get a tattoo of a guy and you are not together. She needs to heal and focus on her. And has she forgot she is keyshia muthafucking Cole who the hell is A.B.

Kourtney and Travis: This past Sunday officially wed, I’m happy for her to see her growing and glowing. she has been through a lot with Scott and unfortunately it’s too late for him. I can’t wait to see this chapter of her life.

Honey Pot: There was Big controversy this week about honey pot supposedly selling her company and changing up the formula. It was so big Twitter was going off. Bea the owner Took to her Instagram live to make a statement about her not selling her company she still owns it. She did address the changes to the formula. I just wish she informed ppl before hand so they could have made their own decisions.

Airforce Child: My oldest child told me she wanted to go to the Air Force this is so out the blue, she never showed interest in the Air Force so I was shocked. I r hink it’s a good opportunity for her I’m really gonna miss my baby. We got some time but we’re gonna move forward with seeing what she wants to do she wants to be a registered nurse in the Air Force though.

Thanks for tuning in until next time. Koko!

Friday Mood

This is my first mood post of twenty twenty-two. although this year didn’t start well for me I’m still grateful to be alive and in good health.

Here are five things that had me in a mood this week!

Rihanna & ASAP: rih rih is pregnant and I couldn’t be more excited for her and her boo rumors have been stirring for a while and now it’s confirmed. Whatever gender she has I’m sure she is going to be a great mom.

Da- Brat & Judy: The couple announced they are expanding their family and I can’t wait to see this journey with them. I love Da brat!

Brandy Norwood: Brandy not only crushed her NFC performance but she came out in a similar suit channeling the Icon Whitney Houston when she performed in 1991.

Suicide: It’s been a lot of deaths this week if you or anyone need to talk please call your local helpline or even reach out to me via inbox I’m always down to chat.

Senior Influencers: I saw this article about senior bloggers/influencers and I just thought it was amazing that the older folk in their 70s were making money from their skills and passions. It just gives hope to all of us creators to keep pushing.

Until next time!

Friday Mood

This week has been draining for me and I couldn’t be happier for this weekend.

Here are five things that had me in a mood this week.

Women’s photoshop: 🌈 Me and my cousins did our annual women’s day photoshoot. This year’s thing was rainbow on the beach we decided to take a little ride down to Ocean City. It was a lot of fun seeing my cousins as we all haven’t been together in a while. we stepped out of our comfort zone and just enjoyed it. This is our third year doing the shoot. We do it every March for women’s day.

Law and order SVU: Detective stabler is back and I couldn’t be happier I love him and Olivia as a team. The first episode was exactly as I expected nothing short of amazing. Dick Wolf is a genius.

Jeannie & Jeezy: Jeannie Ma finally Married her love in a private ceremony last week I don’t know much about it but she looked gorgeous and happy.

A lot of people were upset not that she married a black man but because she did an interview a while ago saying something about the black man was meant to be the side meat and the white man should be the main. Now it does sound racial as hell but I think she didn’t word it right or at least I hope so it’s still not cute. Any congratulations to them both. 💕

DMX: Rest In Paradise….my heart is in pure pain I grew up listening to all of his songs him and the Ruff Ryders. I will be honoring his Art of music this weekend by listening to his songs. Sending lots of love and prayers to his kids and his family.

Prince Philip: Rest in paradise to Prince Philip. I’m sure the United Kingdom is hurting. I don’t know much about Royal life or The United Kingdom but I do know it’s never fun when you lose someone. Sending love and prayers across the country to his wife and family.

Have a great weekend!

Friday Mood

This is my first Friday mood of twenty twenty-one yeah I took a break and I’m still not sure if I will do these weekly but I felt compelled to share so.

Here are five things that had me in a mood this week…..

Texas Snowstorm: Texas has been without power and water since Wednesday I hope that they get help soon it’s freezing out. I will be praying for Texas as I have been.

BHM: I enjoy my blackness and all history involving being black. Our culture will never be forgotten we are so creative and vibrant. February I embrace my blackness even louder and i try to share knowledge with anyone I can help.

Tisha Campbell & Tichina Arnold: Two of my favorite actors are in the works of a Talk show. I don’t care what it’s about I’m watching. I’m so glad Tisha is coming back into herself after her divorce.

Valentines Day: I had a wonderful love day Me and babe took a drive down by the beach and got some fractured prune. (Donuts) We enjoyed each other’s company I laughed so much my stomach hurt.

I made him a Porkchop meal with a baked potato and sweet white corn. For dessert, we had chocolate berries made by my daughter Liyah.

Micheal B & Lori Harvey: I don’t care what anyone says they are adorable. I enjoy watching the two lovebirds do whatever makes them happy. I hope they treat each other right.

Happy Friday ✌️Koko!
